"It is a pleasure to recommend Andy and Character Builders! My passion and priority was to build as eco-friendly a house as possible. This included using local labor, local products and when possible, green products. I wanted all low VOC products and a house that was as energy efficient and water efficient as possible. I explained this to Andy when we first sat down and he agreed to support that goal. We decided to have a variable contract as a remodel is so difficult to predict. I also didn't want to go through being nickled and dimed on every contract change as I've found that to be stressful on other projects. Oh - I also said that I wanted this project to be stress free and fun for both of us and it was!!. His workers were always on time - I don't remember one delay. Andy gave me a detailed billing every two weeks which specified materials as well as labor. He checked in every day usually in the morning and evening and always let me know if that was not possible. He was also available at any time by phone or e-mail so our communication was fantastic - no surprises! Andy's expectations are very high - usually higher than mine!
